Steel Box Girder Bridge on the Expressway-crossing Section from Chuanshan to Haosifang, Ningbo

In 2012, the steel box girder bridge on the expressway-crossing section from Chuanshan to Haosifang in Ningbo was successfully erected. The installation was carried out using a 500-ton crawler crane, with a counterweight of 450 tons, to meet the demanding lifting requirements of the project.

The total weight of the steel box girder bridge section reached 5,500 tons. A key challenge of this project was that the bridge needed to cross the G15 Shenyang–Haikou Expressway, requiring a relatively high erection elevation of approximately 18 meters. At the lifting position, the steel box girder had a span of 60.9 meters, with a single girder segment weighing up to 45 tons.

The project involved complex lifting operations over an operating expressway and required strict control of construction accuracy, safety, and structural stability during installation.
