Suzhou Sika Project
Project Name:
SIKA (CHINA) LTD.
Technical Renovation Project for Annual Production of 10,000 Tons of High-Performance Modified Polyurethane Structural Adhesives, 3,000 Tons of Epoxy Resin Structural Adhesives, 3,000 Tons of Water-Based Fireproof Coatings, 1,250 Tons of Reactive Hot-Melt Adhesives, and 2,500 Tons of Pressure-Sensitive Hot-Melt Adhesives.
Project Overview:
The project is planned to include the following main buildings and structures: Class C warehouse, tank farm, fire pump house, accident emergency pool, PU workshop expansion, QC laboratory, pipe rack, etc. The total steel consumption for the steel structures is approximately 1,200 tons, with an installation period of two months.
Among them, the standalone Class C warehouse adopts a lattice column portal steel frame structure, featuring the largest span (21 meters) and the greatest building height (approximately 22.2 meters). The project utilizes steel structure columns and beams; the roof beams are solid-web H-section steel beams, and the column bases are anchored with anchor bolts. Steel columns are lattice columns. Transverse and longitudinal bracing systems are provided for both roof and inter-column bracing, forming a stable steel frame system. The roof adopts a TB-36 steel deck profile with a waterproof membrane and insulated roofing system, while the walls use 75 mm thick rock wool sandwich panels installed vertically.
Project Challenges:
The vertical installation of 75 mm thick rock wool sandwich panels imposes high requirements on structural flatness, as well as strict control over appearance quality during installation and panel flatness. Through rigorous quality control of raw materials during manufacturing and strict quality management before, during, and after installation, the project team ultimately delivered a highly satisfactory result to the client.
